Custom Dog Stroller Manufacturing — OEM & ODM
A custom dog stroller programme for brand owners, importers and retail chains: reinforced frames rated to 45 kg, cross-ventilated cabins, suspension wheel sets, dual brakes and fully washable trays — engineered for a dog that rides heavy, pants for cooling and gets dirty. MOQ from 100 pcs, sampling in 7–15 days, FOB Qingdao.
What "Custom Dog Stroller" Actually Means
"Custom" covers three very different levels of work, and the level you pick drives both your MOQ and your launch date. Most buyers who ask for a custom dog stroller need only the first level — and discover they can reach shelf inside a single season.
Level 1 — Colour, Fabric & Brand
Take an existing dog platform, change the fabric, powder-coat colour, logo and retail box. No tooling, no structural retest. MOQ from 100 pcs, sampling 7–15 days.
Level 2 — Re-patterned Cabin
Same frame and folding mechanism, new cabin dimensions, ventilation layout, tray and entry configuration. New sewing patterns and a revised jig. MOQ 300–500 pcs, 25–35 days.
Level 3 — New Tooling
A genuinely new structure: heavier tube diameters, revised hub geometry, folding latch or tray shell. Tooling is opened in your name. MOQ 500–1,000 pcs, tooling 10–20 days before sampling.
Dog-Specific Engineering Most Suppliers Get Wrong
A cat stroller scaled up is not a dog stroller. Dogs ride heavier, cool themselves by panting rather than through their paws, and get the cabin dirty in ways a cat never will. These are the seven points we raise before a custom dog stroller project starts:
- Load path and tube wall. A 35 kg dog that shifts its weight, jumps in and brakes hard puts a very different load on the frame than a 5 kg cat. Large-dog platforms use thicker wall tube and reinforced folding joints, with the folding latch tested over repeated cycles rather than just static load.
- Cross ventilation. Dogs cool by panting, so a sealed or half-covered cabin is a heat risk in summer. Dog cabins need mesh on at least three sides with front-to-back airflow — the opposite of the partially enclosed, den-like cabin a cat prefers.
- Wheel diameter and suspension. Heavier payload plus kerbs, gravel and park paths means larger rear wheels and a suspension or compliant front fork. Where a cat stroller is optimised for quiet indoor running, a dog stroller has to be optimised for getting over things.
- Brake capacity. Holding 45 kg on a slope is a different test from holding 8 kg. Large-dog platforms are specified with a foot brake plus a secondary hand brake or wrist strap, and the parking brake is tested on an incline.
- Washable, waterproof tray. Mud, drool and the occasional accident are normal. The tray uses a waterproof coated base and a removable liner that survives a machine wash, with seams that do not trap water.
- Low entry threshold. Older dogs and breeds with hip problems cannot step up into a high cabin. A low rear threshold, or a rear panel that folds down, is often the difference between a product that gets used and one that gets returned.
- Two tether points. Dogs lean out. A single front clip lets them shift the cabin's centre of gravity; front and rear tether points keep the load where the frame expects it.
Specification Ranges You Can Work From
Typical figures for the dog stroller platforms we build on. These are working ranges for planning your range, not a specification sheet — confirm exact figures with your quotation.
| Type | Load rating | Net weight | Configuration | MOQ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small dog stroller | 15–20 kg | 6.0–8.0 kg | Single cabin, one-hand fold | 100–300 pcs |
| Medium dog stroller | 20–30 kg | 7.5–10.0 kg | Wide cabin, low entry | 100–300 pcs |
| Large dog stroller | 30–45 kg | 9.5–13.5 kg | Reinforced frame, large wheels | 300–500 pcs |
| Double / twin dog stroller | 40–50 kg | 12.0–16.0 kg | Side-by-side or tandem | 300–500 pcs |
| Jogger dog stroller | 30–40 kg | 10.0–13.5 kg | Fixed front wheel, wrist strap | 300–500 pcs |
Carton volumes run roughly 0.12–0.45 CBM per unit depending on the platform, putting a 40HQ container in the 150–550 unit range. Mixed loading across two or three models in one container is normal and worth asking for — it is the fastest way to test a market without over-committing to a single SKU.

From Sketch to Container
- Requirement. Market, target retail price, quantity, breed sizes you need to cover, reference photos or drawings.
- Proposal. Structure, material and fabric options with drawings and a costed spec sheet.
- Quotation. Unit price, tooling cost if any, MOQ, estimated CBM and 40HQ loading.
- Sampling. Prototype in 7–15 days on an existing platform; photos and video before shipping. New tooling adds 10–20 days before the sample.
- Confirmation. Sample approved, specification locked, packaging artwork confirmed, deposit invoiced.
- Production. In-line QC at frame, sewing and assembly, with load and brake checks on large-dog platforms. Weekly progress updates.
- Inspection & shipment. Pre-shipment report, loading photos, FOB / CIF / DDP as agreed.
The two things that compress a launch date more than anything else: approve the sample quickly, and lock the specification before the deposit. Changes after production starts are the largest single cause of missed seasons.
Compliance
Dog stroller structures are developed with reference to EN 1888 and ASTM criteria for the relevant market, and third-party inspection (SGS / TÜV / Intertek) is welcome before shipment, with reports provided on request. We will not claim a certificate we do not hold — if your market requires a specific mark, say so at quotation stage and we will build the test plan around it.
Custom Dog Stroller FAQ
What is the MOQ for a custom dog stroller?
From 100 pcs for a colour, fabric and logo variant of an existing platform. A re-patterned cabin starts at 300–500 pcs, and full new tooling at 500–1,000 pcs.
How much weight can a custom dog stroller carry?
Large-dog platforms are rated to 30–45 kg, and double or twin configurations to 40–50 kg. Tell us the heaviest breed you need to cover and we will specify the tube wall and folding joint to suit.
Can you build a stroller for large breeds specifically?
Yes. Reinforced frame, larger rear wheels, dual brakes, a low entry threshold and a washable waterproof tray are the standard large-dog specification.
How long does a custom dog stroller sample take?
7–15 days on an existing platform. If the project needs new tooling, add 10–20 days for tooling before the sample is built.
Can I put my own brand on everything?
Yes. Logo on frame, fabric and tray; retail box artwork; manual in your language. Nothing ships with our name on it.
Do you support third-party inspection?
Yes. SGS, TÜV and Intertek inspections are welcome before shipment, and we provide the reports on request.
What does a custom dog stroller cost?
It depends on platform, load rating, fabric and quantity. Send your target price and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable and what has to change to hit it.
